President Donald Trump delivered a fiery speech at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA 2025), turning the international spotlight on his bold “America First” message.
The speech started with technical glitches — broken escalators and a teleprompter malfunction — but Trump powered through with sharp attacks on world leaders and institutions. He claimed he has “ended seven wars” while accusing the UN of offering only “empty words.”
Trump also slammed countries for recognizing a Palestinian state, urged Europe to step up against Russia, and blasted nations with open-border policies, warning they’re “going to hell” over unchecked migration. On climate change, Trump doubled down, calling it “the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world.”
Tensions with Brazil added to the drama, as both leaders delivered starkly contrasting visions of global priorities.
The White House says Trump’s speech underscores his commitment to U.S. sovereignty, strong borders, and peace through strength. Critics, however, argue it further isolates America on the world stage.
What’s your take — was Trump right to call out the world leaders, or did this speech go too far?
