NEW YORK: President Donald Trump delivered a fiery speech at the United Nations General Assembly , blasting the UN’s climate agenda and calling climate change “ the greatest con job ever perpetrated on the world .”
Trump mocked renewable energy like wind and solar as a “joke,” saying global green policies are destroying national economies while doing nothing to protect the planet. He accused world leaders of pushing a “green scam” that he says will cause their countries to fail.
World leaders at the UN had urged urgent action, pointing to rising seas, deadly floods, hurricanes, and heat waves already devastating their citizens. Trump, however, doubled down — saying climate predictions were “made by stupid people” and have cost nations “fortunes.”
